Registration has opened for this year's Abuja marathon, with organisers raising the participant cap to a record 25,000 runners.

Race officials say international interest has grown steadily over the past three editions, with runners from over 30 countries expected to take part.

The route will retain its signature loop through the city's diplomatic zone before finishing at the Eagle Square.
