President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, has urged Nigeria and other African countries to take bold measures to drive economic development, strengthen institutions and improve the continent's global standing.

Dangote made the call today in Lagos during the signing ceremony for the initial public offering of Dangote Petroleum and Petrochemicals FZE.

Under the IPO, 4.1 billion ordinary shares are being offered at N525 per share, putting the offer value at about N2.15 trillion. The subscription will open on September 14, 2026, and close on October 9, 2026, with investors able to purchase a minimum of 100 shares for N52,500.

Describing the offer as the biggest IPO in African history, Dangote said the refinery represents more than a business venture, describing it as proof that Africa could set ambitious goals and achieve them.

He said the IPO would give ordinary Nigerians, including workers and junior employees, an opportunity to own shares in the refinery.
