Aviation Stakeholders to Examine Sector Sustainability at 30th LAAC Conference in Lagos

Nigeria's aviation industry will come under scrutiny in Lagos on Thursday as policymakers, regulators, airlines, airport managers, investors and other stakeholders gather for the 30th Annual Conference of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents. According to the report, the conference will focus on the sustainability of the aviation sector, particularly how the government can generate revenue without imposing excessive financial burdens on operators.
The event committee, in a statement on Tuesday, said the conference would address concerns over the rising cost of doing business in the aviation industry, noting that airlines and other operators are facing multiple financial pressures, including high aviation fuel costs, levies, foreign exchange challenges, aircraft acquisition and maintenance expenses, as well as airport-related charges.
The committee stressed the need for government revenue policies to be balanced with measures that would encourage investment, support business growth and keep air travel affordable for consumers.
