The Bandawa community in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State has appealed to the state government and other stakeholders to urgently rehabilitate the Bandawa School, describing its current condition as unsafe and unsuitable for learning.

The National Youth President of Bandawa Community, Ishaya Peter Bandawa, made the appeal today, calling on the Taraba State Government, the Karim-Lamido Local Government Council, the member representing Karim I Constituency, the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, UNESCO, non-governmental organisations, philanthropists and development partners to intervene.

Bandawa said the school, which is the only one serving the community, has deteriorated significantly, with damaged buildings, cracked walls, fallen ceilings and damaged roofing structures.

He added that the school also lacks basic learning facilities, forcing pupils to study in an unsafe and unconducive environment.

The community leader said the people are not asking for luxury, but for a safe and functional learning environment where children can receive quality education and develop their potential.
