Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has approved a new leadership for the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board ahead of the 2027 Hajj exercise.

The governor appointed the District Head of Tirwun, Sulaiman Santuraki, as chairman of the board, while the District Head of Gamawa, Aliyu Ahmed, also known as Chiroman Gamawa, was appointed deputy chairman. The appointments take immediate effect.

According to the state government, the changes followed the elevation of the Emir of Lere and the Emir of Gamawa from district heads to emirate stools.

The new leadership is expected to oversee preparations and activities of the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board ahead of the 2027 Hajj exercise.
