Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, says his administration has spent 645-point-four million naira to support victims of rainstorm and fire disasters in the state between 2022 and 2026.

The Governor spoke in Ado Ekiti while disbursing cash and relief materials worth 105 million naira to 159 victims of rainstorm and flooding.

Represented by his Deputy, Monisade Afuye, Oyebanji expressed concern over the devastating effects of flooding, rainstorms and fire disasters on affected residents.

He urged residents to take early warning information from the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NIMET, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, and the Ekiti State Emergency Management Agency, EKSEMA, seriously.

Relief materials distributed to the victims included roofing sheets, bags of cement, wood planks, roofing nails, food items and other consumables, alongside cash assistance.
