World football governing body, FIFA, says it is yet to decide on the future of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, following the resignation of its President, Ibrahim Gusau, General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi and other members of the Executive Committee.

In a letter to the NFF Deputy General Secretary, Emmanuel Ikpeme, FIFA and the Confederation of African Football, CAF, said they are assessing the legal, governance, administrative and electoral implications of the developments within the federation.

The two bodies said they will determine the next steps after completing their assessment.

Gusau led a wave of resignations from the NFF on August twenty-seventh, following growing concerns over the performance of Nigeria's national and youth teams.

The pressure intensified after the senior men's and women's teams failed to qualify for their respective World Cups.
