France will not support Gianni Infantino's bid for another term as FIFA president in the March 2027 election.

The French Football Federation, FFF, announced the decision today, saying it was aligning with several other European football associations that have also withdrawn their support for Infantino. The federations include Belgium, Italy, Scotland, Sweden and Wales.

FIFA confirmed last weekend that Infantino would contest the presidential election despite criticism over his now-abandoned proposal to attract private investment into the men's and women's World Cups.

Infantino, who is 56 and from Switzerland, is currently the only declared candidate for the position.

FFF President Philippe Diallo said the federation believes the trust placed in the FIFA president has been betrayed and that the current approach to the governance of world football no longer represents its position.
