The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, is scheduled to visit Plateau State on Wednesday as part of efforts to strengthen security following a series of deadly attacks in parts of the state.

At least 20 people have been killed in separate attacks by gunmen in several Plateau communities over the past week.

The Plateau State Police Command announced the planned visit in a media invitation signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo.

According to the statement, the visit is aimed at strengthening security collaboration, assessing police formations, and engaging key stakeholders in the state.

The IGP is expected to arrive at the Jos Airport at 9:30 on Wednesday morning. His itinerary includes a courtesy visit to the Plateau State Governor at 10:30 a.m., an engagement at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, at noon, and an inspection visit to the Police Staff College, Jos, at 3 p.m.
