Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has approved the dissolution of the Governing Board of the Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission, KEBSIEC.

The decision was contained in a letter issued by the Director of the Executive Council, Kabiru Wasagu, and signed by the Secretary to the Kebbi State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Tafida.

The statement, made available to journalists on Tuesday, clarified that two other members of the commission whose tenure has not expired will remain in office until the commission is reconstituted.

Governor Nasir Idris expressed appreciation to the outgoing members for their service to the state. He also assured them of the administration's renewed commitment to safeguarding the independence and integrity of the electoral commission.

The dissolution takes effect from September eighteenth, 2026.
