Morocco is heading to the polls on Wednesday, September 23, for legislative elections, with growing skepticism among some voters over political promises.

About 15-point-8 million registered voters are expected to choose from 7,288 candidates representing 27 political parties, competing for 395 seats in the Chamber of Deputies.

But after more than 10 days of campaigning, some voters say they remain unconvinced by the promises made by politicians.

Youssef Guennoun, a florist, accused politicians of failing to work for citizens. He said many of the major development projects in the country were driven by the King, rather than political parties, and described some campaign promises as benefiting politicians themselves.

Guennoun also called for reforms to the political system, including a proposal that parties failing to win at least five seats should be dissolved.
