The Armed Forces of Nigeria say troops rescued more than 100 kidnapped victims and arrested scores of terrorists, suspected collaborators and arms traffickers during military operations across the country between September 17 and 24, 2026.

The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onuoha, disclosed this in a statement released to the press.

According to him, in the North-East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai rescued 44 members of terrorist families in Borno State. More than 20 terrorist fighters and family members also surrendered to troops in different parts of Borno State during the period.

In the North-West, troops of Operation Fansan Yamma rescued several kidnapped victims across Katsina, Sokoto and Zamfara states. The military said a Nigerian Air Force jet disrupted the movement of terrorists transporting a large number of kidnapped victims in Kebbi State, allowing more than 60 victims to escape.

In the North-Central, troops of Operations Whirl Stroke and Enduring Peace rescued additional kidnap victims and arrested several suspects linked to kidnapping and illegal arms trafficking.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, has urged naval personnel to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and remain committed to the core values of the Nigerian Navy. The Naval Chief gave the charge during a route march, where he commended the unity and discipline demonstrated by the personnel.

The Naval Chief urged the personnel to exercise caution in their words, relationships and conduct, warning them against participating in activities that could conflict with the principles and values of the Nigerian Navy.
