The Nigeria Immigration Service has extended its Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom to October 3rd, 2026, following a high turnout of applicants in London and Manchester.

The Service says the exercise has been progressing smoothly at both centres, despite initial challenges recorded on the first day.

In a statement signed by the NIS Public Relations Officer, DCI Akinsola Akinlabi, and posted on the Service's social media platform today, the agency said 1,477 Nigerians were successfully processed and enrolled within the first four days of the exercise.

It added that more than half of those enrolled have already had their passports produced and dispatched to their respective addresses.

The extension was approved following a directive by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in response to the high turnout and growing demand for the intervention exercise.
