The Nigeria Labour Congress has criticised the latest increase in the price of petrol by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, describing the adjustment as avoidable and unacceptable.

The labour body questioned the rationale for the increase, particularly amid falling international crude oil prices and Nigeria's growing domestic refining capacity.

The NLC said that the country should be selling more crude oil to the Dangote Refinery to support local production and help reduce pressure on petrol prices.
