Obasanjo Condoles Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan Over Husband's Death

Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has condoled with Tanzanian President, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, over the death of her husband, Hafidh Ameir Hassan.
In a condolence letter to the Tanzanian President in Zanzibar, Obasanjo described the late Hassan as a First Gentleman who carved a unique path in Tanzania's history.
The former Nigerian leader said Hafidh Hassan remained a humble and dedicated agricultural academic, choosing to support his wife and family away from the political spotlight.
Obasanjo noted that the late First Gentleman stood by President Samia through the years, providing what he described as a steady anchor for the family before and during her leadership of Tanzania.
He said the death was not only a profound personal loss to the President and her children, but also a loss to the wider East African community. Obasanjo said the news of Hassan's death was received with deep shock and sorrow.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to President Samia, her children, including Wanu, and the entire bereaved family, while praying for strength during the period of mourning.
