Ahead of the official visit of Vice President Kashim Shettima to Adamawa State, the Police Command has deployed security operatives to ensure watertight security across the state capital.

Shettima is billed to visit the state today, leading a Federal Government delegation to condole with the state government, Adamawa Emirate Council and the immediate family of late Bamanga Tukur, who died on Saturday and was buried on Sunday in Yola.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, had ordered the deployment of the Command's operational assets, including personnel from the Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Intelligence Unit, Traffic Unit and Divisional Police Officers, to ensure a hitch-free visit.

Nguroje explained that the Commissioner of Police had also directed that there would be traffic diversions and stop-and-search operations in and around the state capital.
