The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed a social media publication directing prospective Police Constable recruits to report for training on September 18, 2026, describing the notice as fake.

In a disclaimer issued through its official X handle, the Force said the purported directive did not originate from the police and urged prospective recruits to disregard it.

The forged letter, dated September 1, 2026, reportedly mimicked official police stationery and contained a list of personal items recruits were allegedly required to bring for training, including white canvas shoes and bedding.

The Force has stamped images of the circulating document with the word FAKE to further alert members of the public.

It advised all prospective recruits to rely only on information provided through their respective recruitment portals and the Force's verified communication channels for updates on the recruitment and training exercise. It also cautioned members of the public against sharing unverified information capable of causing confusion or misleading prospective recruits.
