Defending champions Rangers have recorded their first win of the season, defeating Nasarawa United two goals to one at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.

The rescheduled Matchday Three encounter, which began on Thursday, was halted in the 63rd minute due to heavy rainfall at the stadium. Play resumed today, with Rangers completing the comeback to secure maximum points.

Nasarawa United took the lead in the 39th minute through Sunday Dapman. Rangers responded two minutes later, as Chidozie Iwundu scored the equaliser.

Daniel Itodo then sealed victory for Fidelis Ilechukwu's side, scoring the winning goal eight minutes from full time.

The result takes Rangers to eighth position on the table with four points from two matches.
