Vice President Kashim Shettima has assured Nigerians living abroad, particularly those in the United States, that Nigeria remains open for business despite what he described as negative stories about the country on social media.

Shettima made the statement during an interactive session with members of the Nigerian diaspora community in the United States at Nigeria House in New York.

According to a statement issued today by his media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, the Vice President urged Nigerians in the diaspora to support the administration of President Bola Tinubu in its efforts to transform the nation's economic fortunes.

He said the Federal Government was working to reposition the Nigerian economy, with particular attention to education, healthcare, science and technology, and agriculture.

Shettima also emphasised the importance of Nigerians in the diaspora, describing their knowledge and expertise as the greatest resource of the future.
