Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has handed first senior invitations to 13 new players ahead of Nigeria's upcoming international fixtures.

The new invitees, drawn mainly from clubs in Europe and the Middle East, include goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards.

Some of the players have been included in Nigeria's squad for the international friendly against Russia, while others are expected to feature in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.

Among the new invitees is 20-year-old goalkeeper Samuel James, who plays for Finnish club SJK.

Also receiving his first senior invitation is 20-year-old central midfielder Chibuzo Nwoko, who currently plays for Fulham, after previously spending time in Chelsea's youth system.
