United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed, has called on Africa to learn from the experiences of past leaders in preparing the next generation of ethical and visionary leaders.

Mohammed made the call during a visit to the Olusegun Obasanjo Leadership Institute, OOLI, in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

She described the institute as an important platform for preserving and sharing leadership experiences with future generations.

The UN Deputy Secretary-General stressed that learning from the experiences of past leaders would help Africa build a new generation of responsible and visionary leaders.

Mohammed said leadership lessons must be remembered and passed on, noting that future leaders need to stand on the shoulders of those who came before them.

Her remarks were contained in a statement issued today by Elvis Otobo, media consultant to the Deputy Chief Executive of OOLI, Samuel Daramola.
