The United States has delivered military equipment to the Nigerian Air Force as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria's capacity to combat terrorism and other security threats in the region.

The United States Africa Command, AFRICOM, disclosed this in a post on its official social media platform.

AFRICOM said the equipment was delivered over the weekend by a United States Air Force C-17 aircraft under a foreign military sales agreement between the two countries.

The command said the delivery would further strengthen the military partnership between the United States and Nigeria and support the country's counter-terrorism operations.

According to AFRICOM, the equipment is part of a broader foreign military sales agreement aimed at advancing bilateral security cooperation and enhancing Nigeria's efforts to counter terrorism in the region.

The delivery comes as the Nigerian military continues operations against terrorism and other security threats across the country.
