White House Launches Arcade Games Promoting Trump's Immigration Policies, Draws Criticism

The White House has launched a new website featuring classic arcade-style video games with themes drawn from President Donald Trump's immigration and border policies, including deporting migrants and building a wall along the US-Mexico border.
The games were unveiled on Thursday as the Trump administration intensifies its crackdown on undocumented migrants through expanded arrests and deportation operations. The online games include versions of familiar arcade concepts, redesigned around Trump's 'Make America Great Again' agenda.
One of the games, Rio Run, is a modified version of the classic Snake game. It features a digital representation of US border czar Tom Homan moving along the Rio Grande while chasing migrants of different skin colours near the US-Mexico border. Another game, Build the Wall, is based on the block-stacking format of Tetris. Players are instructed to protect the border from what the game describes as a coming horde.
A third game promotes the administration's investment accounts that include a $1,000 government contribution for eligible children born between 2025 and 2028. Players collect nets that are used to place money into the accounts.
The White House defended the initiative, saying the games are intended to communicate the administration's policies and achievements in a way that would appeal to the public. However, immigration and human rights advocates have criticised the games, arguing that they trivialise the experiences of migrants and the consequences of immigration enforcement.
