Former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, has backed Alex Iwobi to make more than 130 appearances for the Nigerian national team.

Iwobi became only the fourth Nigerian player to reach 100 international caps after achieving the milestone in a friendly against Portugal in June. The Fulham midfielder joined Yobo, Vincent Enyeama and Ahmed Musa in Nigeria's 100-cap club.

Musa currently holds the national appearance record with 110 caps.

Yobo, Nigeria's first centurion, says he would not be surprised to see Iwobi reach 130 caps or more, given his continued involvement and performances at the highest level.

He, however, expressed hope that the midfielder stays injury-free, noting that injuries could affect his progress.
