The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has assured Nigerians that the conduct of police personnel before, during and after the 2027 general elections will make citizens happy and proud of the Force. Disu gave the assurance while responding to questions from journalists after the launch of a book titled The Origin of Women in Nigeria Police Force, authored by 96-year-old Stella Okuyiga, a retired Deputy Commissioner of Police and one of the first 20 female officers recruited into the Nigeria Police Force. The IGP said the Force had begun preparations for the forthcoming elections, including a meeting with Commissioners of Police across the country to ensure professionalism and proper conduct during the polls. He stressed that the police would uphold professional standards in carrying out their duties throughout the electoral process.
