Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has paid an emotional tribute to his late son, Ifeanyi, on what would have been the child’s seventh birthday. Ifeanyi, whom Davido shared with his wife, Chioma Adeleke, was born on October 20, 2019, and would have turned seven on Tuesday. 

The singer took to social media to commemorate the occasion, expressing his and Chioma’s enduring love for their son. Ifeanyi died on October 31, 2022, at the age of three, after drowning in a swimming pool at the family’s residence in Banana Island, Lagos. 

The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the cause of death at the time following an autopsy. His death sparked widespread grief, with fans, fellow entertainers and public figures expressing condolences and support for the Adeleke family. 

Four years after the heartbreaking loss, Davido’s tribute reflects the enduring bond between parents and a child they continue to cherish. As the family remembers Ifeanyi, messages of love and support from fans and well-wishers remain a source of comfort, keeping his memory alive.
