Iran’s President Tells Putin Middle East Can Resolve Conflicts Without US

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has told Russian President Vladimir Putin that countries in the Middle East can resolve regional conflicts without relying on the United States. Pezeshkian made the remarks during a meeting with Putin on Tuesday on the sidelines of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum summit in Moscow.
He also highlighted growing economic ties between Tehran and Moscow, noting that bilateral trade continues to expand. Putin, meanwhile, said he has discussed the regional conflict with Pezeshkian during a private meeting, expressing concern over the situation and hope for a positive outcome.
Pezeshkian expressed confidence that both countries are committed to expanding cooperation in science, industry, culture, security and military affairs.
