The Military Pensions Board has pledged to review complaints by military veterans over disputed pension adjustments and clarify how their entitlements are calculated. The board’s chairman, Air Vice Marshal Mikail Abdulraheem, gave the assurance during an interactive meeting with veterans in Abuja. Abdulraheem explained that pension and gratuity calculations are based on salary structures approved by the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission. He said the revised salary structure, which took effect on September first, twenty twenty-six, followed a salary review for serving military personnel. The chairman added that pension entitlements depend on years of service, with retirees who complete thirty-five years of service entitled to up to ninety per cent of their applicable final emolument. Abdulraheem stressed that the board operates within approved rates and pension regulations and does not independently determine salary structures. He urged affected retirees to submit their pension records for verification, adding that the commission had been invited to clarify the applicable rates.
