Shettima Assures Families of Fallen Air Force Personnel of FG Support

Meanwhile, Vice President Kashim Shettima has assured the families of the Nigerian Air Force personnel killed in Monday’s aircraft crash in Ondo State that the Federal Government’s support will extend beyond words of condolence. In a statement issued today by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima said the nation owed an enduring debt of gratitude to the victims and would continue to stand by their families beyond the period of mourning. The Vice President described the victims as compatriots who embarked on a routine mission in service to the country, noting that beyond their military uniforms and ranks, they were husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers and sisters. Shettima said a country that calls on its citizens to serve must also remember and support those who pay the ultimate price in the line of duty. He stressed that the tragedy had created a lasting responsibility for the nation to honour not only the service of the deceased but also the families they left behind. The Vice President also extended his condolences to the officers, airmen and airwomen of the Nigerian Air Force, describing the incident as a deeply personal loss to a professional military family bound by duty and sacrifice.
