Tinubu Tasks Betta Edu, APC Women Leaders with Grassroots Mobilisation

President Bola Tinubu has urged Betta Edu, Director of Women Mobilisation of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, and other party women leaders to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections. Tinubu gave the charge at the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The President acknowledged the contributions of Nigerian women to the country’s political development, expressing confidence in their ability to boost electoral participation and strengthen the party’s support base. He described women as the party’s major mobilising force and urged them to deploy their organisational skills, numerical strength and influence within families and communities to advance the APC’s campaign objectives. Tinubu specifically charged members of the Women’s Directorate, party women leaders and other campaign officials to deepen engagement with voters across the country. The President’s remarks also drew attention to the broader debate on increasing women’s representation in elected political positions, an issue that has remained prominent in Nigeria’s political discourse.
