President Bola Tinubu is expected to present the 2027 Appropriation Bill to the National Assembly before the end of 2026. The Minister of State for Budget and Economic Planning, Doris Uzoka-Anite, made this known while briefing journalists on the outcome of the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by the President at the State House in Abuja.

Uzoka-Anite said the Council also approved the National Development Plan covering the 2026 to 2030 period, as well as policy measures aimed at reducing child stunting and improving food security across the country.

The Minister announced the approvals following the Council meeting, which came shortly after the conclusion of the 32nd Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja, held from October 26th to 28th. She added that the Council had approved the Revised National Policy on Food and Nutrition 2026, which is expected to replace previous frameworks and provide sustainable funding for nutrition programmes.

According to her, the policy will also strengthen cooperation among ministries responsible for agriculture, livestock, health and education, alongside development partners.
