Tinubu to Visit Saudi Arabia for Umrah, Prayers for Nigeria and 2027 Re-election Bid
President Bola Tinubu is set to travel to Saudi Arabia to perform the lesser Hajj, known as Umrah, and not for medical treatment, according to his Special Adviser on Social Media, Dada Olusegun.
Olusegun disclosed this in a post on his social media handle today, while reacting to a claim by human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore. The presidential aide said the President would also use the opportunity to pray for Nigeria and seek God’s intervention for his re-election bid in 2027
He explained that Tinubu’s planned visit is for religious purposes, as Muslims across the world undertake the lesser Hajj to offer prayers and supplications. The clarification follows Sowore’s claim that five governors, some ministers and prominent businessmen were being assembled to accompany the President on the trip, allegedly to make it appear as an official business visit
However, Olusegun maintained that President Tinubu’s trip is to perform Umrah, pray for the country and commit his 2027 re-election ambition into the hands of God.
