A weekend comedy festival at the International Conference Centre drew one of its largest crowds yet, organisers say, with attendance up significantly from last year's edition.

The event featured headline sets from established comedians alongside a new talent showcase segment for emerging performers.

Organisers have hinted at plans to expand the festival to a two-city format next year.
