President Bola Tinubu has officially sent off Team Nigeria ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games, urging the athletes to compete with integrity, discipline and excellence while proudly representing the country.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, at a ceremony held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday, the President reminded the athletes that protecting Nigeria's image is just as important as winning medals.

He encouraged the team to compete fairly, uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, avoid doping, and serve as worthy ambassadors of the nation.
