Zinedine Zidane reportedly set to become France national team coach until 2030

French football legend Zinedine Zidane has reportedly signed a deal to become the new head coach of the French national team until June 2030.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano announced the development, saying the former Real Madrid manager is expected to be officially unveiled in the coming days, although the French Football Federation has yet to make a formal announcement. According to the report, Zidane will succeed Didier Deschamps, whose tenure ended after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The appointment marks Zidane's return to coaching after leaving Real Madrid in 2021, where he won multiple major honours, including three UEFA Champions League titles.
If confirmed, Zidane is expected to lead France into the 2027 UEFA Nations League, UEFA Euro 2028 and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
