FIFA President Gianni Infantino has retained the backing of the organisation's senior executives following a meeting in Morocco, despite recent scrutiny over his leadership.

Infantino apologised for what he described as errors made during his tenure as concerns continue over FIFA's proposal to sell stakes in some of its competitions to private investors.

FIFA said members of its Management Board in attendance reaffirmed their full support for Gianni Infantino, strengthening his position amid the ongoing debate surrounding the governing body's commercial plans.

The endorsement is expected to boost Infantino's bid for a fourth term as FIFA president.
