The national cybersecurity agency has issued an advisory warning of a rise in SIM-swap fraud attempts targeting mobile banking users.

Subscribers have been urged to enable additional verification layers on banking applications and to report suspicious SIM reactivation requests immediately to their service providers.

Telecom operators say they are working with the agency to tighten identity verification procedures at point of SIM registration.
