CBN plans ₦5.8 trillion Treasury Bill auction for Q3 2026

The Central Bank of Nigeria plans to auction ₦5.8 trillion in Treasury Bills between July and September 2026 under its third-quarter issuance programme.
The increased issuance is aimed at managing excess liquidity, supporting the Federal Government's fiscal financing needs and maintaining attractive returns for investors, with thirteen auction dates spread between July 1 and September 23.
After accounting for about ₦2.64 trillion in maturing bills during the quarter, the programme reflects estimated net new borrowing of ₦3.16 trillion. The CBN plans to issue ₦900 billion each in 91-day and 182-day bills, while 364-day bills will account for ₦4 trillion, the largest share of planned issuance.
