The Federal Government says it is ramping up investments in strategic gas infrastructure as part of efforts to expand Nigeria's domestic gas market, stimulate industrialisation, create jobs and attract greater private sector investment into the energy sector.

The Executive Director of the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund, Oluwole Adama, disclosed this during the Nigerian Oil and Gas Energy Week Conference in Abuja on Thursday.

According to him, the fund is currently supporting 113 gas infrastructure projects across the country. Adama said several of the projects are expected to be commissioned before the end of 2026, while others will become operational in the first quarter of 2027.
