Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu has received a major boost in her fight for survival after Abia State Governor Alex Otti approved the payment of the first phase of her medical expenses following her public appeal for financial assistance.

The development was announced on Tuesday by the governor's Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Martins Justice, who disclosed that Otti had approved part of the actress's medical bills to support her ongoing treatment, noting that the intervention covers only a portion of the expenses required and appealing to Nigerians to continue supporting the actress financially.

The intervention comes days after the 62-year-old actress made an emotional appeal for help, revealing that she had been hospitalized for three weeks and urgently needed ₦30 million to undergo three life-saving surgeries. In a video shared on her Instagram page, Nwosu pleaded with fans, colleagues, friends and well-wishers not to abandon her.
