The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) says it is repositioning itself to become more than an oil and gas producer by building an energy ecosystem that drives sustainable development across Nigeria and Africa.

Group Chief Executive Officer, Bayo Ojulari, made the declaration while reflecting on the company's participation at the 2026 Nigeria Oil and Gas Energy Week.

According to Ojulari, NNPC's new vision is centred on connecting investment, technology, policy, talent and markets to create long-term value for the continent's energy sector.

He said the company's transformation goes beyond hydrocarbon production, describing NNPC as an ecosystem builder committed to strengthening partnerships and accelerating Africa's energy prosperity.

Ojulari expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the conference, where industry leaders, policymakers, investors and technology providers gathered to discuss energy security, gas development, decarbonisation and investment opportunities.
