The Nigeria Immigration Service NIS has assured Nigerians that passport services across the country remain fully operational despite the recent migration of additional passport branches to its Central Personalization Centre.

In a statement posted on its official X account today, the Service clarified that the migration is a strategic administrative upgrade aimed at improving passport production, security, and service delivery, rather than a suspension of operations.

According to the NIS, passport applicants can continue to visit their designated passport offices for biometric enrolment without any disruption. The Service explained that applicants can seamlessly complete biometric data capture at their local passport offices, while the centralized production framework is designed to strengthen passport security, align with global best practices, streamline processing timelines, and protect the integrity of the Nigerian passport.

The NIS further assured the public that passport enrolment centres nationwide remain fully functional and that the production and distribution of passport booklets continue within the established delivery timelines.
