The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority NCAA is planning to introduce Radio Frequency Identification technology at Nigerian airports to reduce cases of lost, delayed, damaged and misrouted passenger baggage.

The system will track luggage from check-in through sorting, loading and arrival, allowing passengers to monitor their bags through an app and identify their last known location.

The NCAA said the technology would also help airlines resolve baggage complaints faster and prevent luggage from being sent to the wrong destination.
