Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has died at the age of 40, just months after celebrating her recovery from breast cancer. The news was confirmed today by actor Alesh Sanni, who paid an emotional tribute to his late colleague on Instagram.

Actress Bimpe Akintunde also expressed her grief, describing Osoba's death as heartbreaking. Osoba was widely recognised for her performances in Yoruba films, including Ile Owo, Omo Iya Kan, and Gucci Girls.

In late 2024, she publicly revealed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 38. She disclosed that doctors warned her the treatment could affect her ability to conceive for up to five years, a prognosis she described as devastating. She underwent two surgeries and radiation therapy, receiving financial and emotional support from colleagues, including Foluke Daramola and Alesh Sanni.

After successfully completing treatment, Osoba returned to acting in 2025 and became an advocate for breast cancer awareness, encouraging women to embrace early detection and timely treatment.
