FG to seek compensation from South Africa over evacuee losses

The Federal Government has indicated it will engage South African authorities to seek compensation for Nigerians who abandoned businesses and property amid recent unrest.
The Acting High Commissioner said the evacuation exercise, which has already returned more than 600 citizens, would extend beyond repatriation to protecting the investments of affected Nigerians.
A fresh batch of 269 returnees arrived in Lagos this week aboard a chartered flight, with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs receiving them on behalf of the President.
