Nigeria and Niger Republic have signed a renewed protocol aimed at easing cross-border trade that had been disrupted by recent security operations along shared frontiers.

The agreement establishes designated trade corridors with simplified documentation for small and medium-scale traders.

Officials from both countries say the protocol will be reviewed after six months to assess its impact on regional commerce.
