A new wing under construction at a teaching hospital in Gwagwalada is expected to add 300 additional beds once completed, easing pressure on the facility's overstretched wards.

The expansion is being financed through a blended model combining federal capital allocation with development-partner support.

Hospital management says the new wing will prioritise maternal and paediatric care capacity.
