The Federal Government has launched the Human Resource Modules of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS), introducing a fully digital platform designed to automate staff postings, promotions, leave applications, and other personnel management processes across the Federal Civil Service.

Speaking at the IPPIS Go-Live Ceremony in Abuja today, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, described the initiative as a major step towards building a modern, efficient, and technology-driven public service in line with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to Walson-Jack, the platform replaces manual HR processes with an integrated digital system that manages the entire employee lifecycle, including biometric enrolment, onboarding, payroll administration, employee mobility, reporting, and data analytics. The system currently serves 508 ministries, departments, and agencies under the IPPIS platform.

She emphasized that staff postings would now be handled electronically, eliminating the need for lobbying or personal influence, explaining that integrating all personnel functions into a single platform would improve record management, reduce duplication, minimize errors and delays, and enhance transparency through automated approvals, standardized workflows, and reliable audit trails.
