The Nigeria Governors' Forum convened in Abuja to review proposals for a revised revenue allocation formula between the federal, state and local government tiers.

Several governors argued that the existing formula, largely unchanged for over two decades, no longer reflects current population distribution or the derivation principle for resource-producing states.

A technical committee has been tasked with submitting recommendations to the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission within the next quarter.
