Nigeria's broad money supply increased to ₦133.25 trillion in June 2026 from ₦129.21 trillion recorded in May, according to the latest money and credit statistics released by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The increase came as the apex bank maintained its benchmark Monetary Policy Rate at 26.5 per cent. The CBN data showed that broad money, also known as M3, rose by ₦4.04 trillion month-on-month and increased from ₦117.25 trillion recorded in June 2025, driven by an expansion in net domestic assets and quasi-money.

The report also indicated that M2, which includes narrow money, quasi-money, demand deposits and currency outside banks, rose to ₦133.24 trillion in June from ₦129.20 trillion in May. Quasi-money increased to ₦88.54 trillion from ₦84.58 trillion, while demand deposits rose to ₦39.78 trillion from ₦39.43 trillion. Currency outside banks, however, declined to ₦4.92 trillion in June, compared with ₦5.19 trillion recorded in the previous month.
